Beth Kerr

Diaconal Minister

Beth’s passion is for nurturing soulful living which enables us to connect deeply with God, with ourselves, and with one another. Worship, study groups, online social media “prompts”, spiritual direction and pastoral care, as well as community events, are all ways to enhance our ability to find meaning amid the joys and challenges of life.  When we listen to our own souls, our ability to love others and to work for justice in the world is strengthened. 

Beth has been a Diaconal Minister in The United Church of Canada since 2002 and joined TEAM Trinity in the middle of the pandemic in July 2020. This is, in fact, the third Trinity United Church she has served, making a Trinity of Trinities (others include Trinity in Elkhorn, MB and Trinity in Portage la Prairie, MB).

Beth’s household includes her wife, Sarah, who is also a United Church minister and two crazy cats (look for lots of photos of cats if you follow her personally on social media). Her ideal nice day involves a lovely hike in some beautiful part of God’s creation followed by a great meal.  Her ideal stormy day includes a good book, a big cup of herbal tea (ideally vanilla or raspberry rooibos), a warm blanket and snuggles from the cat with chocolate or baking being an extra bonus.

Beth can be reached by email, text or phone. She takes Fridays and Saturdays off so your message will likely go to voicemail on those days and she will get back to you as soon as possible if it is urgent, or on Monday if it isn’t. Messages for Beth can also be left with the church office.

  • Donna Stirling has been the Trinity United Church Office Administrator since November, 2014. Although she hails from the little village of Alma in Wellington County, she is now married to local Listowelite, Jim Stirling, and they are the proud parents of Dennis (Abby) and Julie (Mark Edgar). Donna and Jim delight in spending time with their six grandchildren, when not involved with managing the farm, and their business Stirling Farms.

    Donna’s pastimes include crocheting and card making, and many members of our congregation have been the recipient of her beautiful cards. She is a valuable volunteer in the community, spending time with the Listowel Agricultural Society and the Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, to name only two.

    Donna can be reached at Trinity United Church on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and on Thursdays from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m.

  • Looking for something part-time to fill her spare hours upon retirement from the Listowel Memorial Hospital, Barb brought her experience in housekeeping to Trinity. Once there, she picked up a paintbrush and cans of paint; scrubbed, stripped, and polished the floors to a mirror-like finish - refinished woodwork, and convinced her husband Jim to refinish the exterior doors to the church.

    When not applying sparkle and shine with her magic mops and brooms, Barb enjoys spending time in the garden, or with family and friends exploring greenhouses and garden centres.

  • Bryan Dippel, hairstylist and owner of ‘The Hairloom Shop’ is Trinity’s “Jack of all trades”. As the Trinity ‘Sanitary Engineer’, he is responsible for placing the garbage and recycling containers at the curb each week. Then, donning his ‘Security Badge’, and as Keeper of the church key, he ensures that the church doors are locked and secured each night. Bryan also shares his talent as a ‘Decorator Extraordinaire’ by voluntarily creating displays in the church sanctuary for special seasons throughout the year.

  • Donna Trimble joined Team Trinity in August 2022, as the Financial Administrator, after retiring from Home Hardware Head Office in St. Jacobs. She moved to Listowel in 2021, and established roots by purchasing a home here in May 2022. Wanting to be involved in her new community, she has joined VON exercise classes and the Listowel Curling Club, as well as attempting yoga and line dancing.

    In her spare time, Donna enjoys quilting, reading and knitting and hopes to travel.  She is mother to two sons and two daughters. Donna is “Grammy” to eight wonderful grandchildren in Ontario and BC.
